About Us
Located in central Vermont, Campo di Vino brings new
definition to the phrase “eat, drink, and be merry.” A true reflection of the
Italian culture, we offer delicious food derived from family recipes that have
stood the test of time and taste buds.
With deep Italian familial lines, and a mother who taught
him to roll gnocchi before he could walk, Robert Campo founded Campo di Vino in
2008. His goal? To share with the community the incredible food and lasting
traditions that he grew up with. With a focus on fresh ingredients and a drive
to produce everything from scratch, Robert partnered with former East Barre
Market owner, Gary Rubalcaba, who brought his vast experience with meats and
family recipes for specialty ethnic sausage. They began making luganiga,
salamites, and chorizo, and as the community sought out these lost specialties,
were soon flooded with orders by word of mouth alone. Along with the sausages
the two will also be offering prepared roasts, jarred antipasto, homemade
ravioli and bolognese sauce, as well as other Italian specialties.
Though Campo di Vino currently focuses on bringing quality
food to your table, there are plans for expansion to include a wine bar,
offering unique varietals from all areas of Italy, tasting events, local entertainment,
and wine education.
